Pinhole: Web on Flickr.Shot this while on a photo adventure w/.penny a few weeks ago. We explored a mostly abandoned, falling-down warehouse. Haven’t had that much fun in a while. For this, I held the camera on the window sill, the pinhole less than two inches from the glass. The hole was smaller than the size of a quarter.
This will be part of a new series I’m currently working on. My hope is to get the series in a local gallery. More details about it when I’m closer to being done.

I met Penny and her partner Zia a few weeks ago. Both are amazing photographers. Penny and I connected over the weekend and explored a local industrial site. We climbed a few walls, clambered through a few thorny bushes and stepped carefully around debris, but it was worth the effort. Penny, who specializes in shooting instant film (damn good at pinhole) was kind enough to stop shooting for a few seconds (8ish) for me to get this shot. Zero Image, f235, Kodak Ektar, I think I counted to 8, cropped from 6x9

Ever wonder what my pinhole camera’s shutter looks like? Well there it is in the upper left corner. My cable release decided to stop working fully. I didn’t notice because I don’t normally look at the shutter when I’m shooting. Dumbass.

Pinhole: A Dragon For My Love on Flickr.A shot suggested by J, my love, on Valentine’s Day, a day of which she’s not fond. Pish posh on Hallmark.
Here comes the Velveeta, because that’s how I am about her…I love her more today than yesterday. Not because it’s V-Day but because she’s fiery and gorgeous and smart. The sun rises on her beauty and the moon makes it glow. I’m still deeply smitten.
The dragon, Eli, stands outside the Nashville Children’s Theatre, an amazing institution entertaining and enlightening local kids since the 30s. I remember seeing numerous shows there as a child. Our kids see shows there now. The dragon, created by artist Zophia Kneiss, is 30 feet long and rises more than 20 feet overhead. It’s both beautiful and frightening. She talks about her vision for Eli here.
